Frequently Asked Questions

When installing/reinstalling Hazel, does it overwrite the existing database?
The hazel installer does not overwrite settings and existing databases.

My trial period has expired. What do I do?
The trial version is usually bundled with a free 30 day evaluation period. Please contact hazel development or your software vendor to request for the license registration key. The key is sent once the full payment has been made.
How does Hazel Licensing work?
When you pay for Hazel licensing, you get to use the sofware application you have bought on that particular computer. Once registered, you will be able to access Hazel sofware fully.
How do I setup HazelPFS for multiple users on one computer?
Every user created in your Windows gets a unique database. Create a user and then install HazelPFS while logged on to that person's profile. This way you can have multiple users accessing HazelPFS on one computer.

Do the installers support command line parameters?
Yes, all Hazel installers support command line parameters:
For example
"C:\HazelPFSInstaller.exe" /SILENT
Other parameters include:
SP-
Disables the "This will install... Do you wish to continue?" prompt at the beginning of Setup.
/SILENT, /VERYSILENT
Instructs Setup to be silent or very silent. When Setup is silent the wizard and the background window are not displayed but the installation progress window is. When a setup is very silent this installation progress window is not displayed. If a restart is necessary and the '/NORESTART' command isn't used (see below) and Setup is silent, it will display a Reboot now? message box. If it's very silent it will reboot without asking.
/SUPPRESSMSGBOXES
Instructs Setup to suppress message boxes.
/LOG
Causes Setup to create a log file in the user's TEMP directory detailing file installation and [Run] actions taken during the installation process.
/LOG="filename"
Same as /LOG, except it allows you to specify a fixed path/filename to use for the log file.
/NOCANCEL
Prevents the user from cancelling during the installation process, by disabling the Cancel button and ignoring clicks on the close button.
/NORESTART
Prevents setup from prompting or restarting the pc after the installation.
What operating systems are supported?
Supported > Windows 98, XP, ME, 2000 2003 Server, Vista, Vista Ultimate and Windows 7.
Partially supported > Windows 95 Unsupported > Linux, Unix, Mac
Windows 7 requires administrator permissions to install and even run some features.
Do I need Administrator permissions to install the software?
Yes. Most installations require administrator permissions in order to complete the installation.
You may need to right click on the installer and select "Run as Administrator" in Windows Vista and Windows 7 even if you are logged on as Administrator.
